Docollater Guide

Pentagate's Docollater Web Documentation Suite

Docollater is an object oriented database based web documentation system.

Note: The MOBI, PDF and Language modules are not included under Pentagate's AAT Public License.

Docollator's object oriented documentation structure allows it to be used for any "real world" requirement. By it's nature it is ideally suited for documenting OO software and BOM based product structures; making it good candidate for documenting manufactured products. Quality control and technical documentation can integrate with a product's bill of materials and Pentagate's JPenta 2.8 web navigation user-interface, providing a centralized web-based document control system. Mobi (mobile based) web documentation uses the same documentation data as the standard web pages, eliminating duplication.

MSAccess

System requirements: The prototype version of Docollater was developed in MS Access 2003. The help sub-system utilizes the InternetExplorer VB object. You can manually change the web location of the help pages if you load the help with JPenta. By default the help files are pointed to www.pentagate.com.

Remarks & Known issues

This is the standalone prototype version of the Docollater Web Documentation Suite. The MOBI, PDF and Language modules are not included in this version under Pentagate's AAT Public License. The prototype version of Docollater has not been regression tested. Please report any bugs you encounter here.

Considerations when inputting data: This is a prototype version and requires a degree of discipline when capturing data. There may be input fields where input is not fully tested for invalid data and data types.
